The 1975 Matura Class returned to our campus for their 50th anniversary.
Can you believe it’s been fifty years since these six fellows said goodbye to our Zugerberg campus? They haven't seen each other for many years. Their faces have changed, their hair turned silver, but one thing remains the same: The unbreakable bond among them.
As one alumnus Tjalling Ament reflected:
"What lasts after all these years isn’t grades or trophies. It’s the friendships, the laughter and the bond that time can’t break. Institut Montana has forged that bond, and that’s what makes Montana so special in our hearts."
On a lovely Saturday on July 12th, six members of the our Matura graduating Class of 1975 class traveled from the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Switzerland to meet up on our campus. They were then joined by six additional alumni from different graduating years, who spontaneously joined the celebration.
The day began with a heartfelt candle ceremony in the Chapel, honoring classmates who have passed. This intimate moment reflected the enduring bonds of the class and their shared history. Following the ceremony, our alumni enjoyed a lunch in the Speisesaal, recalling memories of the boarding school days, old friends, and familiar faces. A campus tour allowed everyone to see the modernised facilities, revisit their old rooms and reminisce about the freedom and adventures of their youth, including time spent in "The Chalet" with its beautiful views of the Zugersee.
The day slowly ended with a relaxed Apéro and BBQ dinner at the Sunset Lounge, overlooking the tennis courts and the stunning sunset . What a perfect setting to laugh, share stories, and celebrate lifelong friendships.
Moments like these remind us that no matter how many years pass, Montana alumni can always pick up right where they left off. Here’s to the Class of 1975, to the ones we remember, and to friendships that last a lifetime.
