Day School

Daily Life at our Swiss International School

Institut Montana is a private day and boarding school in Switzerland. The day school welcomes students from age 6 to 19 across four sections allowing different academic paths. They are unified by a personalised approach to learning in a friendly, international environment.

As a day student, the final part of your journey from your home, which might be in Zug, Zurich or Lucerne, is by funicular railway. A wonderful way to reconnect with friends while the lake gets smaller as you climb higher towards our campus on the Zugerberg. Children aged 6-10 are supervised on the train. Should you live near Neuheim, Edlibach or Unterägeri, we offer a bus service in the mornings.

Then, you arrive at your truly international school. We believe that you learn well while being happy in your environment, so we maintain a positive atmosphere and greet each other with warmth and mutual respect. Our teachers and support system work with you to help you focus on your studies and achieve your best. Our school day ends at 15.20, but you will find many reasons to stay, study and play at your school in its beautiful surroundings. Cocoa-breaks and a family-style lunch in our magnificent dining-hall will keep you going and energised to participate in your choice of extra-curricular activities and to benefit from independent study time at the end of the day under the guidance of expert teachers and other students.

As we are a boarding school, we offer a flexible schedule. Should your parents be very busy or away for a time we offer flexible boarding (depending on availability).
